Guwahati, July 7, 2025: In a swift late-night operation aimed at curbing illegal and immoral activities, Assam Police apprehended 18 individuals from the bustling Ganeshguri area of Guwahati on the night of July 6.
The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mrinal Deka, with the Dispur Police executing the arrests. Among those detained were 6 males, 6 females, and 6 individuals identifying as third gender, all allegedly involved in activities deemed immoral under the law.

Officials said the crackdown is part of a larger, ongoing mission by the police to maintain law and order and address unlawful practices across the city. The police are expected to conduct further investigations to ascertain the nature and extent of the activities and take appropriate legal action against those found guilty.
