Tuithaphai, April 17, 2025, Virthli(ONP): The presidents of all recognised tribes under the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) convened a crucial meeting today in Lamka to discuss the current status and future direction of the organisation amidst ongoing challenges and evolving political circumstances.

During the meeting, leaders unanimously reaffirmed the foundational purpose of the ITLF as a unified platform formed by all recognised tribes in Churachandpur district to address shared tribal concerns. The assembly resolved that ITLF shall continue to operate as a collective voice for the tribal communities, maintaining its core mission of safeguarding common interests.

Given the continued unresolved conflict with the Meitei community, the presidents agreed that all departments under ITLF would remain active and fully operational to address ongoing and emerging issues.

As part of its future course of action, the forum has scheduled a follow-up meeting for Saturday, April 19, 2025. The meeting will further deliberate on ITLF’s roadmap and will include planning for the upcoming Separation Day to be observed on May 3. The event is expected to see the participation of all ITLF executives, tribe presidents, and departmental heads.

Reaffirming their collective commitment, the tribal leaders expressed their dedication to tirelessly working for the welfare and rights of the tribal communities represented under the ITLF.

The meeting was chaired by K. Lalbiaksanga, President of the Mizo People's Convention (MPC) General Headquarters, and recorded by Nangzakai Suante, Secretary (Organisation) of the Vaiphei Peoples’ Council (VPC) General Headquarters.
