The HSA State Coordinating Committee (Manipur) warmly welcomes the appointment of Dr. John H Pulamte as one of the two members of the first Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribe as per the order issued by the Government of Manipur on the 8th of August 2016. Dr. John H Pulamte brings with him an immense wealth of experience in the advocacy tribal's rights in the state, and he has played a stellar role in highlighting the plight of the tribal populace and championing their rights as a Social Activist especially during his tenure as the distinguish. President of ATSUM for two consecutive terms from 2003 to 2009. A selfless and tireless campaigner for rights of the tribal and the indigenous people — an issue ever close to his heart. Dr. John H Pulamte had come to symbolize tribal rights in the State. For those who are involved with tribal organizations Dr. John H. Pulamte needs no introduction.

Dr. John H. Pulamte — apart from being a champion of tribal rights and indigenous issues in the State, is also an academician who had presented several papers in local, state, national and international seminars; he has also written a number of books in the Hmar language. He was the President of the Hmar Students' Association General Headquarters from 2004 to 2011; and President of Hmar Inpui from 2013 to 2016 (Hmar Supreme House of the Hmar tribe of Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Mizoram and Tripura). As far as experience in tribal issues are concerned Dr. John H Pulamte is 'second to none', and his appointment as member of State Commission for Scheduled Tribe is a reflection of his in-depth experience and a testimony of the quality of his leadership. Dr. John H Pulamte is always forceful in his advocacy of tribal rights and the HSA is confident that he will be an invaluable asset to the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribe.

The HSA SCC (Manipur) wishes Dr. John H Pulamte nothing but the best as he begins his stint as a member of the Manipur State Commission for Scheduled Tribe.
