Agartala, August 26, 2025: Continuing its commitment to enhancing medical infrastructure, the Tripura government today handed over appointment letters to 45 newly recruited specialist doctors. The significant move is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to upgrade both medical manpower and facilities, ensuring better healthcare for all citizens.
Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the Health Minister of Tripura, reaffirmed the government’s priority on health services and emphasized that the journey to improve medical infrastructure has no end, with more opportunities expected in the near future for healthcare professionals aspiring to serve.

In a boost to local governance, the government has also received ₹29.75 crore as the XV Finance Commission Untied Grants for the year 2025-26 from the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government. This first installment is aimed at supporting 606 Gram Panchayats, 35 Block Panchayats, 8 Zilla Parishads, 587 Village Committees, and 40 Block Advisory Councils across the state, reinforcing rural governance and development.
This infusion of funds coupled with enhanced healthcare staffing underscores the government’s dual focus on strengthening public health systems and rural administrative bodies to improve quality of life for Tripura’s population.
