New Delhi, August 1, 2025: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met with key Union Ministers in New Delhi to discuss the state’s progress in social welfare and developmental missions.
In a meeting with Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smti Annapurna Devi, the Chief Minister briefed her on the implementation of POSHAN and Meghalaya’s strides in its Early Childhood Development Mission. Expressing gratitude for her continued support, Sangma noted the importance of her guidance in furthering these critical programs for child and maternal welfare.
Sangma also met Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, conveying the heartfelt appreciation and warm wishes of the people of Meghalaya following her recent visit to the state. He remarked that her presence had left a significant and lasting impression on the people.

Additionally, the Chief Minister called on Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, to discuss issues relating to inclusivity and empowerment of marginalized communities in Meghalaya.
The meetings underline the state government’s commitment to fostering strong cooperation with the Centre in areas of nutrition, child development, financial progress, and social justice.
