New Delhi, August 1, 2025: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurated the Meghalaya Pineapple Fest at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi, showcasing the state’s prized organic pineapples and rural enterprise achievements. The event was attended by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, who expressed pride in the global recognition of Meghalaya’s pineapples, known for their exceptional sweetness and organic cultivation.
“Our pineapples are not just produce; they are a symbol of the dedication and resilience of our farmers,” said CM Sangma. He added that the festival not only celebrates the fruit but also tells the story of Meghalaya’s rural communities and their progress towards an AtmaNirbhar (self-reliant) future.

In addition to pineapples, the festival features exhibits from local self-help groups (SHGs) and small industries, offering visitors a taste of Meghalaya’s cultural richness and entrepreneurial spirit.
The event is open to the public and aims to boost market linkages, promote organic produce, and encourage support for the livelihoods of indigenous farmers and rural artisans.
