Siaha, July 16, 2025: In a boost to minority welfare and local infrastructure, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri George Kurian virtually laid the foundation stone for two key development projects under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in Siaha District, Mizoram.
The ceremony, held at the MADC Golden Jubilee Hall, was attended virtually by district MLAs Dr. K Beichhua and Shri K Hrahmo. Shri George Kurian, addressing the gathering, reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to Vikshit Bharat 2047 - a vision for a developed India by the 100th year of independence. He commended the progress achieved across northeastern states, especially Mizoram, under the current leadership and expressed hope that the new projects will significantly benefit the local population.
Dr. K Beichhua, MLA and BJP Mizoram President, and Shri M. Laikaw, CEM of MADC, also addressed the occasion. Both leaders expressed gratitude to the Central Government for its inclusive developmental agenda and focus on empowering marginalized communities.
The two projects launched under PMJVK include:
1. Construction of a Public Market-cum-Multipurpose Centre and Women Facilitation Centre at Tipa V, Siaha District.
2. Construction of a Multipurpose Community Hall in Siaha District.

Siaha Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Abraham Beirazi Khithie presided over the event, which witnessed broad participation from both MADC and State Government officials.
