Pherzawl, July 17, 2025, Virthli: In a heartfelt demonstration of frustration and hope, students of Kangreng Government High School in Vangai Range Sub-Division, Manipur, held a peaceful rally today demanding more teachers for their severely understaffed school.
Located in the remote Vangai Range Sub-Division, Kangreng Government High School, established in 1970, currently operates with only two teachers, despite a sanctioned strength of ten. With around 40 students enrolled, the school struggles to provide adequate instruction across all subjects, severely impacting the quality of education.
Carrying placards and chanting slogans like “We want more teachers,” “Students need more teachers,” and “Only two teachers is very less,” the students marched through the village in a peaceful rally aimed at drawing attention to the critical shortage of teaching staff.
After the rally, the students submitted a formal letter to local MLA Ngursanglur Sanate, appealing to him to address the crisis and take immediate steps to resolve the teacher shortage.

The emotional outcry from the students reflects a larger issue of educational neglect in remote regions, where government institutions often lack the resources and attention required to function effectively. The community now looks to the authorities for swift and meaningful intervention.
