Imphal, July 17, 2025: General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, Lt. Gen. Ram Chander Tiwari, accompanied by GOC Spear Corps Lt. Gen. Abhijit S Pendharkar and IGAR (South) Maj. Gen. Ravroop Singh, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan.
During the meeting, the Governor was briefed on the prevailing security situation in the region and the ongoing preparations for the 134th edition of the Durand Cup, scheduled to be hosted in Manipur.

Lt. Gen. Tiwari expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s steadfast support and visionary leadership, which he said were pivotal in enabling Manipur to host one of the oldest and most prestigious football tournaments in the world. He lauded the Governor's contributions toward ensuring both a secure environment and the successful conduct of the upcoming event.
