Mizoram State Level Social Justice Assembly Held in Aizawl

Aizawl, 17 July 2025: The State Level Social Justice Assembly was successfully held today at Secretariat Conference Hall-II, MINECO, under the chairmanship of Pu Lalnunhlua, Additional Secretary, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development Department.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of inclusive dialogue. Pi C. Laltleipuii, Director of the Social Audit Unit, Mizoram, delivered a detailed presentation on the role, significance, and impact of social audits, as recognised by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

Through a PowerPoint presentation, findings from social audits conducted under the AVYAY scheme in Champhai and Lunglei districts were shared, covering institutions such as IPSrCs, ODICs, IRCAs, and WADAs under the NAPDDR initiative. Observations and key outcomes from District Assemblies and past engagements were also highlighted.

The assembly was attended by Director Pi Lalhriatzuali, IAS, along with officials from the department, various NGOs, and representatives from state-run homes and centres. The event was jointly organised by the State Social Welfare Department and the Social Audit Unit, Mizoram.

The assembly aimed to strengthen transparency, accountability, and community participation in social justice initiatives across the state.
