Assam CM Holds Talks with FHASM Alliance, Proposes Tripartite Dialogue

Guwahati, July 11, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today held a key meeting with representatives of the Forum for Hills Autonomous State Movement (FHASM) Alliance, a coalition of 21 parties, to deliberate on their ongoing concerns and aspirations.

The discussion centered on key issues such as mutual respect, protection of identity, inclusive development, and resolving demands through constitutional processes.

Highlighting the need for constructive engagement, the Chief Minister assured the delegation that he would advocate for a tripartite meeting involving the Central Government, State Government, and FHASM to explore an amicable resolution to their demands.

Dr. Sarma also reviewed the implementation of the Karbi Accord 2021, reiterating the importance of peaceful dialogue and tangible action for the welfare of the hill communities.
