Imphal, June 30, 2025: Security forces in Manipur have successfully neutralised an explosive device and apprehended two active insurgents in separate counter-insurgency operations across the state on June 28 and 29.
On June 29, a bomb disposal team safely neutralised a 51mm ILLG bomb that was found planted at Terakhongshangbi Maning Laithel, under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district. The device was safely diffused, and splinters were recovered from the site for further forensic investigation.
In another operation the same day, security personnel arrested an active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP - NOYON/MFL) from Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East district. The arrested individual has been identified as Manoharmayum Kabichandra Sharma alias Rajo (28) of Lamlai Mayai Leikai.
Earlier, on June 28, another militant was apprehended in Imphal West district. An active cadre of PREPAK (PRO), identified as Kangabam Raju Singh alias Purel (42) of Sagolband Kangabam Leikai, was arrested near the Fish Arcade Shop in Heirangoithong under Singjamei Police Station. From his possession, the forces seized a mobile handset, a wallet containing Rs. 80, and a voter ID card.

Authorities confirmed that the overall law and order situation remained normal throughout the state. Meanwhile, search operations and area domination exercises are being intensified, especially in fringe and vulnerable areas, to ensure continued peace and security.
