Imphal, June 26, 2025: In a strong display of commitment to the fight against substance abuse, the Assam Rifles organized an anti-drug oath-taking ceremony across three key districts of Manipur - Jiribam, Pherzawl, and Tamenglong on June 26, 2025. The event was held as part of the force’s ongoing efforts to combat the growing menace of drug trafficking and addiction in the region.
The Assam Rifles personnel reaffirmed their pledge to continue playing a leading role in creating a drug-free society. The initiative was not limited to just symbolic action. It was also part of a broader campaign involving awareness drives, grassroots-level engagement, and sustained crackdowns on drug smuggling activities in the border and hill districts of Manipur, which are often used as transit routes for narcotics.
By educating the public about the devastating impact of drug abuse and involving local communities in prevention efforts, the Assam Rifles aims to foster resilience and cooperation in the fight against narcotics.
Officials noted that the campaign will continue through a combination of law enforcement, public outreach, and community-building initiatives to promote a healthier and safer society for future generations.
