In his address, Pu K. Sapdanga expressed hope that the new MRI unit would significantly benefit the public, especially the underprivileged, by providing improved diagnostic services. He noted that this marks a major milestone for Aizawl Civil Hospital, as it will now offer services previously unavailable due to the lack of advanced diagnostic equipment.

The MRI machine, manufactured by Siemens Healthineers (Germany), cost approximately ₹8.72 crore and comes with a 10-year service agreement. In total, 24 new machines have been procured under the Smart City initiative for Aizawl Civil Hospital, aimed at improving cancer detection, trauma care, and various other treatments.

She announced the expansion of ICU facilities at ZMC (13 beds) and in district hospitals at Siaha, Lunglei, and Champhai (5 beds each). She also mentioned that kidney transplant surgeries are expected to begin soon in the state.
