Aizawl, June 14, 2025: World Blood Donor Day was observed today in Aizawl, with Land Revenue & Settlement Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova officiating the event organized by the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) in collaboration with the Association for Voluntary Blood Donation (AVBD).
In his address, Minister Lalchhanzova highlighted the selfless act of voluntary blood donation, urging the youth to take active part in this life-saving initiative. Recounting his personal experience of donating blood even during the early days of fatherhood, he emphasized that physical challenges or responsibilities should not deter anyone from helping those in need. He stressed that healthy individuals have a moral duty to donate blood to save the lives of others who may be battling serious health conditions.
“Even when our blood donation may not be directly seen or acknowledged, it is an act blessed by God and highly valued by the nation,” the Minister said, calling blood donors silent heroes whose contributions sustain countless lives.
This year’s World Blood Donor Day was observed under the global theme: “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.”
