Mizoram Govt Signs Agreement with Apex Bank for Provisional Employees Savings Scheme

Aizawl, June 13, 2025: The Government of Mizoram’s Finance Department and the Mizoram Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd. signed a formal agreement today to operationalize the newly introduced "Mizoram Provisional Employees Savings Scheme 2024" aimed at supporting provisional employees across various government departments.

The agreement signing ceremony was held at the office chamber of the Commissioner & Secretary, Finance Department. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary, while Pu A. Lallungmuana, Chief Executive Officer of Apex Bank, signed on behalf of the bank. Officials from both sides were present as witnesses.

The Mizoram Provisional Employees Savings Scheme 2024 is designed to benefit over 7,000 provisional employees currently serving in various state departments. The scheme offers them a structured savings platform with attractive interest rates, reportedly higher than standard public deposit rates, as committed by Apex Bank.

The initiative is seen as a significant step by the state government to promote financial security and inclusion among temporary government staff, offering them access to formal banking and better savings opportunities.
