Imphal, June 10, 2025: In a firm response to recent disturbances, Manipur Police detained 19 individuals in Imphal East District for their involvement in street violence and public disorder. The individuals were found blocking roads, harassing commuters, and creating disturbances - many reportedly under the influence of alcohol. Their actions caused serious inconvenience to the public and disrupted normal life.
Authorities have emphasized that such unlawful and anti-social behaviour, particularly among youth, could result in legal consequences that may impact their future and career prospects. Manipur Police has urged all citizens to refrain from engaging in such acts and to cooperate in maintaining peace and order.
In a separate counter-insurgency operation conducted on June 9, 2025, security forces arrested three active cadres belonging to different proscribed outfits from the general area of Pantha under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal District.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Laisharm Rakeshwar Singh (21) of Torbung Waikhurok, Bishnupur District - cadre of PREPAK (Pro), Sharangthem Koireng (25) of Kakmeiyai, Thoubal District - cadre of KYKL, and Laikham Amujao Singh @ Salai (22) of Sekmai, Imphal West District - cadre of KCP (Noyon).
