Imphal, June 3, 2025, Virthli: The Government of Manipur has officially launched the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan across multiple districts, aiming to revolutionize farming practices through sustainable, climate-smart approaches. The initiative is a joint effort by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, in collaboration with ICAR and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).
The campaign seeks to empower farmers by raising awareness of key agricultural schemes from both the central and state governments, and by promoting natural, resilient farming techniques tailored to changing climatic conditions.
Key Objectives of the Campaign:
Enhance knowledge of agricultural schemes and support systems
Promote eco-friendly, modern farming practices
Foster direct engagement between farmers and agricultural scientists
Conduct training programs, field demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing sessions
Officials describe the campaign not just as a government program but a larger movement toward a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through Viksit Krishi (Developed Agriculture).
