A key point of discussion was the unfinished stretch between Kawnpui and Sairang, where the Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to ensure immediate release of funds for road construction in this section. CM Lalduhoma emphasized that this route is a critical transport corridor connecting Mizoram with mainland India and highlighted the severe hardships faced by commuters due to the incomplete work.

He pointed out that although the section has been pending since last year, the required funds have yet to be disbursed. The CM stressed that timely financial support from the central government is essential to resume and complete the construction work without further delay.

Highlighting the broader vision, the Chief Minister proposed the importance of a Strategic Highway Plan in Mizoram to enhance national security and connectivity. He recommended that roads in challenging and hilly terrains like Mizoram be constructed using concrete, which, despite its higher initial cost, significantly reduces long-term maintenance expenses and enhances durability.

CM Lalduhoma also briefed the Union Minister about the ongoing efforts to develop heliport infrastructure across the state to boost connectivity and emergency response capacity.
