Imphal, June 5, 2025: In response to the recent floods, the Department of Health Services, Government of Manipur, mobilized 16 Health Rapid Response Teams across Imphal East, Imphal West, and Senapati districts on June 4, 2025. The teams visited multiple flood-relief camps, including Meitei Mayek School (OLA Lampak), Youth Hostel (Khuman Lampak), Kongba Laishram Leikai, and camps in the Khurai region.
Over 300 individuals were screened for various health conditions such as skin infections, diarrhoea, acute respiratory infections (ARI), hypertension, diabetes, iron deficiency, fever, and general weakness. Free medicines, oral rehydration solution (ORS), and essential first-aid supplies were distributed at the camps.
Additionally, the teams conducted health awareness sessions focusing on the prevention of water-borne diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, and hepatitis A, along with promoting hand hygiene and the use of safe drinking water.
