Imphal, June 18, 2025: The Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC), based in Imphal, Manipur, has issued a strong warning to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, and Kuki militant groups, expressing serious concern over a reported agreement involving the relocation of Suspension of Operations (SoO) camps to areas inhabited by Naga communities.

In a press statement dated June 18, 2025, the FNCC said any attempt to relocate SoO camps into Naga ancestral areas would be met with fierce resistance and could lead to violent unrest akin to the May 3 incidents that previously shook the state. The committee urged that all SoO camps situated in proximity to Naga regions be dismantled immediately to avoid further conflict.
The FNCC accused Kuki groups of encroaching on Naga ancestral lands, calling the idea of a separate "Kukiland" a false narrative and a “declaration of hostility.” They alleged that the move reflects a blatant disregard for the Naga people's historical presence in these regions.
Listing a series of unprovoked attacks on Naga villages such as Longsai, Kaiphundeijang, Nungnang, and others, the FNCC further alleged a systematic land-grabbing agenda in areas including Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Kangpokpi, and Senapati districts.
The committee strongly criticized what it described as manipulated narratives that downplay armed assaults on Naga villages as “local disputes,” arguing that this tactic is aimed at suppressing a united Naga response.

The statement concluded with a call for respect and peaceful coexistence, urging the Kuki community to honor the history of Manipur and avoid actions that provoke the Naga people. It warned that any further aggression or encroachment on Naga lands would be met with an “unwavering iron hand.”
The release was issued by the Media Cell of the Foothills Naga Coordination Committee (FNCC).
