Aizawl, June 4, 2025, Virthli: Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma has called on communities, NGOs, and registered societies to actively implement the ‘Bana Kaih’ initiative in their localities. Speaking at the Chief Minister’s Bana Kaih Innovation Challenge award ceremony held today at Vanapa Hall, the CM emphasized that true innovation begins with individuals willing to take ownership, act with initiative, and use their hands to create meaningful impact and sustain their livelihoods.
Highlighting the success of the pilot project, the Chief Minister said 517 individuals had already been selected as "Progress Partners" under the Bana Kaih initiative, with each eligible to receive financial support of up to ₹1 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Special Package.
Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena, also speaking at the event, described the state government's innovation drive as a long-term policy direction that goes beyond today's beneficiaries, laying the foundation for future governance reforms and grassroots innovation.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Lalduhoma also met with members of the Mizoram State Transport Authority to discuss key transport issues, including city bus route optimization, improving passenger experience, permit regulations, and proposals for implementing an online cab booking system in Aizawl. He also addressed concerns over the increasing number of Kenbo bikes entering from Myanmar and the traffic challenges they pose.
