Aizawl, June 4, 2025, Virthli: Mizoram School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana emphasized the need for stronger Mizo representation in national competitive exams like the UPSC, stating that the state must work harder to ensure visibility and success in such prestigious fields. He made the remarks while inaugurating a new building for the Government Nepali Primary School at Rangvamual today.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vanlalthlana highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Mizoram Education Reforms Committee to improve the state’s education system. He stated that changes are underway in term examination paper formats, lesson plans, and teacher engagement. These reforms are in line with the newly released National Curriculum Framework (NCF), under which NCERT has already developed new textbooks for Classes I, II, III, and VI. He added that both teaching methods and curriculum will undergo significant updates to better equip students for future challenges.
Also speaking at the event was local MLA and Adviser to the Chief Minister, Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, who noted that the new school building is a result of the government’s quick action post-election. He said funding for the construction was sourced from Samagra Shiksha and other channels, and that education remains central to the state’s development goals. He urged continued community support and collaboration to sustain educational progress.

The newly inaugurated two-storey school building includes six classrooms, one teachers’ common room, separate boys' and girls' toilets, and a kitchen for mid-day meal preparation. The school currently serves 122 students and employs six teachers.
The inaugural program was led by Special Secretary of School Education, Pu David Lalthantluanga, and Director Pi Angela Zothanpuii, who both expressed gratitude to the local community and government stakeholders for their support.
