Imphal, June 1, 2025, Virthli: In a series of intensified operations, security forces in Manipur recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosive materials during search and area domination exercises across vulnerable hill and valley districts.
In the general area of Khuangmun, Churachandpur District, the forces seized:
1 (.303) Rifle with empty magazine
4 Single Barrel Guns
3 modified long-range mortars
2 IEDs (3 kg and 1 kg)
2 live Pompi bomb shells
2 Bulletproof jackets and 2 BP plates
1 Helmet
2 Ammunition pouches
1 Baofeng radio set
In another operation along Khumbong Loubuk Lambi Tera Makhong Road, Imphal West, the following were recovered:
1 local-made carbine machine gun with magazine
1 Double Barrel and 1 Single Barrel Gun
1 (.32) pistol with magazine
2 magazines of 7.62 LMG
1 No. 36 HE grenade with detonator
1 Chinese hand grenade and 2 stun grenades
Mixed live ammunition including 9mm, AK rifle, .45 mm, and .22
3 Bulletproof vests and 6 ballistic plates (2 iron, 4 fibre)
3 sets of camouflage uniforms
Separately, on May 31, three active cadres of the proscribed outfit KYKL were arrested near Indo-Myanmar Border Pillar No. 87, under Tengnoupal Police Station. The arrested individuals are:
1. Aheibam Ajay Singh (25), Sugnu Awang Mandop Leikai, Kakching District
2. Leikhuram Johnson Meitei (22), Moirang Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Bishnupur District
3. Sagolsem Sanajaoba Singh (26), Singjamei Akampat Leikai, Imphal West
