Jowai, May 21, 2025, Virthli (ONP): Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday handed over a cheque of ₹1 crore to Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital in Jowai as the first installment under the Meghalaya Health Advancement Policy. The grant is part of a ₹2 crore financial aid package aimed at strengthening non-profit hospitals across the state.

Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital becomes the fifth private healthcare institution to benefit from this initiative, which is designed to enhance the capacity and outreach of charitable hospitals serving local communities.

CM Sangma expressed gratitude to the KJP Assembly and acknowledged the tireless efforts of the hospital's doctors, nurses, and staff, stating that their commitment continues to inspire the state’s public health mission.
