National Institute of Disaster Management, New Delhi is offering the following online courses on Disaster Risk Management in collaboration with the Work Bank (GFDRR), Washington.Basic courses (Duration- Six Weeks)
Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management Framework
1. Third Batch- October 3 to November 11, 2011
2. Fourth Batch- December 5, 2011 to January 13, 2012
3. Fifth Batch- February 6 to March 16, 2012.
Specialized Course (Duration- Four Weeks)
1. Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management
(i) Second Batch- October 17- November 11, 2011.
2. Safer Cities
(i) First Batch- October 3 to October 28, 2011
3. Financial Strategies for managing Economic Impacts of Disasters
(i) First Batch- November 7 to December 2, 2011
4. Risk Sensitive Land Use Planning
(i) First Batch- December 12, 2011 to January 6, 2012
5. Gender Aspects of Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction
(i) First Batch- January 9, to February 3, 2012
6. Community Based Disaster Risk Management
(i) Second Batch- February 6- March 2, 2011
7. Damage and Reconstruction Needs Assessment
(i) First Batch- March 5- March 30, 2012
Course Eligibility-
Basic Course is open for all those who are interested in acquiring basic knowledge on Disaster Management, Mitigation, Prevention, Preparedness etc. After successful completion of basic course, participants are eligible to undergo specialized courses of their choice.
Specialized courses are offered to those who have either completed the Basic course or having specialized qualifications/experiences in the related domains.
Course Fees- Rs. 1500 for BASIC course and Rs. 1000 for each specialised courses
