CCPur, Nov 4, 2025: The United Kuki National Army (UKNA) has strongly condemned the recent Khanpi operation, alleging that four of its cadres were killed while asleep during a security raid on November 4.
In a statement issued by the UKNA’s Department of Home Affairs, the organization denounced what it termed a “cowardly act” and called upon the Indian Army and authorities to ensure accountability and restraint.
The group reiterated that it is not opposed to the Indian Army or society but continues to demand a separate administration (Union Territory) for the Kuki-Zo community, asserting that they would lay down arms once the demand is fulfilled.

UKNA further reminded the public of the hardships faced since the 2023 ethnic conflict, accusing past Manipur state leadership of actions that forced them to take up arms in defense of their people.
The statement urged security forces to avoid being misled by individuals “camouflaged as leaders” for personal gain, emphasizing their commitment to seek justice and peace under the Indian Constitution.
