Churachandpur, November 13, 2025: BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri B.L. Santhosh and BJP National Spokesperson and MP Dr. Sambit Patra visited Churachandpur district on Thursday, where they met Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), distributed relief materials, and held a series of meetings with local community and party leaders.
The leaders visited the Sadbhavna Mandap Relief Centre, interacting with displaced families and children affected by the ongoing conflict in Manipur. Dr. Patra shared that the visit aimed to “extend solidarity and support to the IDP families,” while B.L. Santhosh praised the spirit of the children, who sang “Saare Jahaan Se Achha”, noting that their patriotic rendition “would put even schools in major cities to shame.”
Following the camp visit, the BJP leaders convened a meeting with party office bearers, MLAs, and district functionaries to review the prevailing situation, development initiatives, and organisational activities in the region.
Later in the day, both leaders held separate meetings with delegations from the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) and the Zomi Council, who presented memoranda outlining the community’s collective positions and aspirations.
The Kuki-Zo Council delegation reiterated the need to maintain the status quo along the buffer zones and urged for an early political settlement for the Kuki-Zo people before the restoration of any popular government in Manipur. They clarified that the community was not opposed to the BJP but found participation in government formation untenable under current circumstances.
The Zomi Council also expressed deep concerns over the ongoing crisis and urged the visiting leaders to facilitate a lasting and honorable resolution.
All meetings were reportedly held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, with both sides emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and justice for all affected communities in Manipur.
