Mizoram Prepares for PM Modi’s Visit; Review Meeting Held at Aizawl Secretariat

Aizawl, September 1, 2025: The Mizoram government convened a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO, on September 1 to make preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 13, when he is scheduled to inaugurate the Sairang Railway Station.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, IAS, brought together heads of various departments and security agencies to finalize arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit, including venue management, security protocols, logistics, and public participation.

Senior officials present included the Director General of Police, Principal Secretary (GAD), Commissioner & Secretary (PWD), Secretaries of Planning & Programme Implementation, Home, Cooperation, Transport, Power & Electricity, PHE, I&PR, and Horticulture, as well as representatives from the Aizawl Municipal Corporation, North Eastern Frontier Railways, Assam Rifles, Army Medical Corps, Aviation, Fire & Emergency Services, Doordarshan Kendra, All India Radio, and the Indian Meteorological Department.

Discussions focused on ensuring smooth coordination and strong security arrangements across key locations, including Lengpui Airport, Thuampui, and Lammual Ground. The main public programme at Lammual Ground will include government officials, employees, school and college students, and the general public.

The meeting also deliberated on measures to minimize traffic congestion, improve road conditions, and streamline crowd management for the day of the event.

The Chief Secretary urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure that the Prime Minister’s visit proceeds successfully and without disruption.
