Imphal, August 30, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Manipur Police and Security Forces arrested three alleged drug smugglers in separate operations in Senapati district on August 29.
In the first incident, police arrested Paogoulal Touthang (22) of T. Gamnom village, Kangpokpi district, from Hengbung Police Outpost under Senapati Police Station. A huge consignment of contraband was recovered from his possession, including:
• 205 soap cases of brown sugar weighing 2.816 kg
• ₹2.5 lakh in cash
• One four-wheeler vehicle
• One mobile handset with two SIM cards
• Identification documents including Aadhaar card, PAN card, and driving license
In another operation at the Mao Gate Police Check Post, police apprehended two women drug smugglers, identified as B. Dinah (42) and H. Khune (45), both residents of Tunggam Afi village under Tungjoy Police Station, presently residing at TNK village, Senapati.
From their possession, the police recovered:
• Eight soap cases of brown sugar weighing 113 grams
• Two mobile phones
The arrested individuals, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the respective police stations for further investigation.

The Manipur Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying the fight against drug trafficking under the state’s “War on Drugs” initiative.
