Aizawl, July 7, 2025: The Zo Re-Unification Organisation (ZORO), based in Aizawl, has issued a press statement expressing deep concern over the ongoing violent conflict between the Chin National Organisation (CNO) and the Hualngoram Peoples Organisation (HPO) in the Chin State of Myanmar. ZORO stated that the internal conflict, which has resulted in significant bloodshed and civilian suffering, is highly distressing and must be brought to an end.

In its statement, ZORO emphasized that such violence among Chin brethren is unacceptable, especially at a time when the Chin people are already suffering under the oppressive rule of Myanmar’s State Administration Council (SAC). The organisation highlighted that the ongoing infighting only serves to worsen the already dire humanitarian situation and threatens the collective future of the Chin-Zo ethnic communities.

ZORO called on both CNO and HPO to cease hostilities and work toward peace, urging the groups to prioritize unity and cooperation in addressing the broader political and security challenges they face. The organisation stressed that any internal division among the Chin people weakens their ability to resist external oppression and to advocate for their collective rights.

Additionally, ZORO reiterated that it does not support any faction or party but stands for unity, peace, and the protection of Zo ethnic identity and interests. The organisation also made it clear that it is willing to assist in peace-building efforts if called upon.
