CYMA Holds Talks with Chin Groups from Myanmar, Agreement Reached to End Hostilities

Aizawl, July 6, 2025: The Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) recently convened a crucial meeting with leaders of the Chin National Organisation (CNO) and the Hualngoram Peoples Organisation (HPO) to discuss the ongoing conflict and tensions between the two groups in the Chin Hills region of Myanmar.

During the dialogue held yesterday, the parties addressed the loss of civilian lives and the suffering of many displaced women and children caused by the internal conflict between CNO and HPO forces. In response to CYMA's initiative, both organisations agreed to cease further confrontations and engage in continued discussions to resolve misunderstandings and prevent escalation.

The CYMA leadership urged both sides to put public welfare above all and expressed concern over the humanitarian toll of the conflict. The meeting concluded with a commitment to maintain communication and work towards peace and reconciliation in the interest of affected communities.
