Imphal, July 2, 2025: Security forces in Manipur continue to carry out intensive search operations and area domination exercises in fringe and vulnerable areas across various districts, aimed at maintaining peace and curbing insurgent activities amid ongoing unrest in the region.
On July 2, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of PREPAK (PRO), identified as Oinam Hemanjit Singh alias Taibangsemba (50), from the Meitram area under Nambol Police Station, Bishnupur district. The police seized one diesel auto and two mobile handsets from his possession.
A day earlier, on July 1, two active cadres of the KCP (PWG) were apprehended in separate incidents.
One, identified as Lourembam Suresh alias Mairongba alias Toto (47) of Heirangoithong Oinam Leikai, Imphal West district, was arrested from Elang Khangpokpi Awang Leikai, Maning Pat under Waikhong Police Station, Kakching district. A mobile phone was seized from his possession.
In another operation the same day, police nabbed Oinam Tomba Singh alias Herojit (57) of Tumukhong Awang Leikai, Imphal East district, from Sekmaijin Maning Leikai under Hiyanglam Police Station, also in Kakching district. He was reportedly involved in extortion activities targeting oil pumps in Kakching and Thoubal districts. A keypad mobile phone was seized from him.

Meanwhile, movement of 198 vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 was facilitated with strict security measures. Security convoys were deployed in sensitive stretches to ensure safe and uninterrupted passage.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and law and order, with security presence bolstered in all vulnerable locations to prevent any insurgent activity or disruption of essential supplies.
