Imphal, July 7, 2025: In a continued crackdown on insurgent activities, Manipur Police and security forces arrested five active militants during ongoing search and area domination operations in vulnerable fringe areas across multiple districts.
According to official reports, two active cadres of the banned outfit KCP (PWG) were arrested from Keibi Heikak Mapan Awang Leikai under Sagolmang Police Station, Imphal East district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sangomshumpham Musha Ahamed @ Ibobi (40) of Khomidok Mayai Leikai, and Md. Farooque Shah (25) of Khomidok Awang Leikai.
The duo was caught while attempting to collect extortion money from the public. One Honda Dio vehicle used by them was also seized at the time of arrest.

In a separate operation on the same day, three active cadres of the banned group PREPAK were apprehended from Keirao Khunou under Irilbung Police Station, also in Imphal East. One of the arrested has been identified as Laishram Vishan Meitei @ Bhojo @ Nongthon (28) of Lamphel Sana Keithel, Imphal West district.
The other two apprehended were juveniles, who are being dealt with under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
Security operations across the state remain active as authorities continue efforts to root out insurgency, restore law and order, and ensure public safety.
