Imphal, July 4, 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal arms stockpiles, Manipur Police, Assam Rifles/Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) conducted extensive joint search operations in multiple hill districts of the state between the night of July 3 and the morning of July 4.
The operations were launched following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of a significant cache of weapons and warlike stores concealed in remote and interior locations. Simultaneous raids were carried out in Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Chandel, and Churachandpur districts, leading to the seizure of 203 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition and explosives.

• 7.62 mm rounds – 80

Authorities described the recovery as one of the largest coordinated seizures in recent months, significantly impacting the operational capabilities of armed groups in the region.
