Delhi, July 14, 2025: Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today, holding a productive discussion on various developmental issues concerning the state.
Among the major topics discussed were the Thenzawl Peace City Project, the construction of the Aizawl-Thenzawl National Highway, and progress on the Handholding Policy for economic empowerment. The leaders also spoke about the ongoing refugee situation due to unrest in Chin Hills, Myanmar, which has led to significant displacement into Mizoram.
The Chief Minister also raised the issue of expanding cooking gas access, highlighting the ₹926.5 crore Gas Pipeline Project under IGGL currently underway, which aims to provide piped gas connections to Mizoram residents, especially in Aizawl where many still rely on gas cylinders. He requested stronger coordination from Mamit District DC to ensure timely execution, which the Prime Minister reportedly supported.

Additionally, Pu Lalduhoma urged the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Bairabi–Sairang Railway Line and the newly constructed Sairang Railway Station. PM Modi expressed his willingness to attend the event in person, depending on schedule availability.
The meeting reflects the Centre and State's joint commitment to infrastructure development and public welfare in Mizoram.
