Guwahati, July 14, 2025: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Sewa Bhawan to assess progress under the Assam Health Infrastructure Development & Management Society (AHIDMS). The meeting focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, accelerating project implementation, and ensuring quality and inclusivity in the state’s health system.
Key discussions included boosting institutional capacity and preparing for a mega health camp scheduled for September, which will screen children and adolescents under 18 for over 50 diseases, including cardiac, neurological, genetic, liver, kidney, eye, and ear conditions. Treatment for identified conditions will follow in subsequent phases. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure smooth execution and effective follow-up.

In a separate meeting, Dr. Sarma also reviewed the Dong Bandh project with officials from the Irrigation Department. He stressed the importance of swift execution, integrating modern technologies, and adopting ecologically sustainable practices to ensure the long-term safety and well-being of the public.
