Tripura Achieves Milestone with Third Successful Kidney Transplant at AGMC-GBP Hospital

Agartala, June 30, 2025: On the eve of National Doctors' Day, Tripura celebrated a significant medical achievement as doctors at the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital, in collaboration with Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Manipur, successfully performed their third kidney transplant.

Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who is also a noted dental surgeon, announced the news on social media, commending the expertise and dedication of the medical teams involved.

“As we prepare to celebrate Doctors’ Day tomorrow, I’m delighted to share that our doctors at AGMC & GBP Hospital, in collaboration with the medical team from Shija Hospitals, have successfully performed their third kidney transplant,” he stated. “Both the donor and recipient are now in stable condition.”
