Parvachawm, June 20: In a significant push for connectivity and regional development in the remote Hmar-inhabited areas, Pu Ngursanglur Sanate, MLA of Tipaimukh, has initiated the construction of a motorable road between Parvachawm - a village in Tipaimukh Sub-Division, Pherzawl District, located in the southernmost part of Manipur - and Daido, a village in the Sinlung Hills region in northern Mizoram.
The new road is expected to benefit residents of both Hmarram and Sinlung Hills, promoting smoother transport, better access to essential services, and increased socio-economic activity.
Known for their community spirit and commitment, the people of Parvachawm have been actively involved in supporting the construction. Despite the rugged and rocky terrain, work is progressing steadily with JCB excavators deployed for land clearing and levelling. Controlled blasting and rock cutting are also being employed to navigate the challenging landscape.
According to locals, this marks the first-ever direct road connection between Parvachawm in Manipur and Daido in Mizoram. Once completed, the road will serve as a vital lifeline for the region, dramatically reducing travel time and enhancing connectivity between Parvachawm, Hmarram, and surrounding settlements.
