Over 34,000 Blood Units Donated in Mizoram in 2024–25; 93.71% from Voluntary Donors

Aizawl, June 6, 2025: A total of 34,752 units of blood were donated across Mizoram during the 2024–25 period, according to report by DD Mizoram. Of these, 32,566 units (93.71%) came from voluntary donors, while the rest were replacement donations.

During the same period, 611 blood donation camps were organised across the state, where 22,602 units were collected.

Mizoram is set to observe World Blood Donor Day on June 14, under the global theme: "Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often: Safe blood saves lives." The Association for Voluntary Blood Donation (AVBD) will also present awards to outstanding voluntary donors as part of the celebration.
