Tengnoupal, June 6, 2025: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Tengnoupal District, has called for a 24-hour total shutdown in response to the arrest of Mr. Kamginthang Gangte by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Moreh on June 5, 2025. The shutdown will be in effect from 6:00 PM on June 6 to 6:00 PM on June 7, 2025, across Tengnoupal District.

As part of the protest, the KSO has urged all shops, businesses, transportation services, and both private and government educational institutions and offices to remain closed. The shutdown, they said, is a “mark of solidarity and protest” against what they perceive as unjust action by the authorities.
However, the organisation clarified that medical services, water supply, electricity, and religious activities will be exempted from the purview of the shutdown.
Appealing for public cooperation, the KSO requested the residents of the district to maintain peace and assist in making the protest successful. The organisation also urged the authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens during the shutdown period.
