Kohima, June 20, 2025: In a major crackdown under its ongoing ‘War against Drugs’, the Nagaland Police has seized narcotics worth over ₹15 crore in three separate operations conducted between June 12 and June 17, 2025.
In the first operation on June 12, the Narcotic PS, PHQ, intercepted a Hyundai i20 vehicle and seized 5.950 kg of suspected brown sugar, concealed in a hidden compartment. The drugs, valued at around ₹6 crore, were being transported from Manipur to Guwahati, Assam. Two suspects, Durg Singh and Matu Singh from Rajasthan, were arrested in connection with this case (Narcotic PS Case No. 06/2025).
In the second bust on June 14, the Narcotic PS seized 70 soap cases containing 739 grams of suspected heroin (Shan Flower), estimated to be worth ₹5.17 crore. Two individuals from Manipur, Visani and Th. Pavikho, were arrested (Narcotic PS Case No. 07/2025). Investigations revealed that the consignment was allegedly sent by a person identified as Sani (alias Kavisii) from Manipur.

The third operation took place on June 17, when the Kohima Highway Patrol Party stopped a Maruti Baleno and recovered 50 soap cases containing 549 grams of suspected heroin, worth an estimated ₹3.8 crore. The transporter, L. Rulu, was arrested (Khuzama PS Case No. 05/2025), and investigations are ongoing.
