New Delhi, June 16, 2025: Mizoram Lok Sabha MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha held a meeting with Tribal Affairs Secretary Pu Vibhu Nayar in New Delhi to deliberate on key development needs of Mizoram, with a strong emphasis on improving scholarship disbursal for tribal students.
During the discussion, MP Richard expressed concern over the persistent delays in the release of Tribal Scholarships, which has led to significant hardships for students. He urged the Ministry to streamline the process and ensure that students receive their scholarships on time, without bureaucratic hindrances.
The MP emphasized that as a tribal-majority state, Mizoram deserves special attention and consistent support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He called for focused efforts not only on scholarship schemes but also on broader developmental initiatives that would benefit the state’s youth and marginalized communities.
Secretary Vibhu Nayar assured that the Ministry is committed to addressing the scholarship issue and enhancing the effectiveness of tribal development programmes. He also highlighted that new projects and schemes under the Tribal Affairs Ministry would be explored for Mizoram's inclusive growth.

MP Richard Vanlalhmangaiha also encouraged the Ministry to devise long-term strategies to uplift socio-economic conditions in the state through education, skill development, and infrastructure projects.
