Imphal, June 23, 2025: Security forces in Manipur have ramped up coordinated operations across vulnerable fringe and valley areas, leading to the arrest of multiple militants and the seizure of a vast cache of weapons, explosives, and ammunition in the last 24 hours.
In one of the major recoveries, a search operation in Makhabasti under Jiribam Police Station resulted in the seizure of:
• 1 M4 Carbine with Magazine
• 1 INSAS Rifle with 2 Magazines
• 1 SLR Rifle with Magazine
• 1 Country-made SLR with Magazine
• 4 Country-made SBBL (Single Barrel Guns)
• 1 Pompy Gun
• 4 Empty Pompy Bombs
• 1 No.36 Hand Grenade
• Approx. 150 grams of PK (Gelatine Explosive)
• 1 metre Cordex Wire
• 1 Pistol with Magazine
• 60 rounds of 7.62 mm AK live ammunition
• 9 rounds of 7.62 mm SLR live ammunition
• 5 rounds of 5.56 mm live ammunition
Meanwhile, acting on intelligence inputs, security forces arrested four active PREPAK (Pro) cadres from various parts of Imphal East District. The arrested individuals are:
1. Thingbaijam Philip Singh – Kongba Kshetri Leikai
2. Lourembam Kumar Meitei alias Kanto – Lourembam Leikai (currently residing in Sawombung Relief Camp)
3. Laishram Haridas alias Holaiba – Uripok Sorbon Thingnel
4. Yumnam Akash Singh – Hiyanglam Awang Leikai, Kakching District
Based on their revelations, a massive cache of weapons was recovered from the foothills of Kalika under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East, including:
• 4 SLR Rifles
• 2 .303 Rifles
• 1 Light Machine Gun (LMG)
• 1 Modified .303 Sniper Rifle
• 2 .303 Magazines
• 10 SLR Magazines (9 Short, 1 Long)
• 5 .303 LMG Magazines
• 1 INSAS LMG Magazine
• 1 INSAS Rifle Magazine
• 74 rounds of 7.62 mm LMG live ammunition
• 8 rounds of M4 (5.56 mm) live ammunition
• 341 rounds of .303 live ammunition
• 51 rounds of .303 fired cartridges
• 114 Ballistic Training Cartridges (.303)
• 19 SLR HD Training Cartridges
• 3 Ballistic Training Cartridges (7.62 mm)
• 4 No.36 Hand Grenades
• 1 Chinese Hand Grenade
• 3 WP/Smoke Grenades
• 2 Smoke Grenades
• 10 Tube Launching IA

In a separate operation, Manipur Police arrested an active PLA cadre, identified as Sanasam Rajesh Meitei (35) of Hiyangthang Mayai Leikai, Imphal West. He was reportedly involved in extorting money from schools and private clinics in Nambol area.
