Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF) Appoints New Leadership

Tuithaphai, June 11, 2025: The Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF), a conglomerate of recognised tribes based in Lamka, Outer Manipur, has announced new appointments to its leadership following a meeting held on June 10, 2025, at the ITLF Office, KIC Complex, Tuibuong.

During the meeting, which was attended by tribe presidents, department convenors, and forum members, the following leaders were unanimously appointed for the next term:

Chairman: Letpu Haokip (Kuki Inpi Churachandpur, KIC)

Secretary: Richard Hmar (Hmar Inpui , HI)

Vice Chairman: To be nominated by the Mizo People’s Convention (MPC)

The Forum also resolved that the current Spokesperson and all departmental Convenors will continue to serve in their respective roles, ensuring continuity in the Forum’s operations during this transitional phase.

In its statement, the ITLF called for public support and cooperation as the newly appointed leadership works to advance the Forum’s mission and vision during what it described as "critical times" for the tribal communities in the region.

This leadership transition marks an important moment for the ITLF, which continues to play a vital role in representing and safeguarding the interests of the indigenous tribal population in Manipur.
