Imphal West DC Issues Notice on Mandatory Height Clearance for Buildings Near Imphal Airport

Imphal, June 24, 2025: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West District, has issued a public notice mandating height clearance for all buildings and structures located near the Imphal International Airport. The notice, dated June 24, 2025, aims to ensure compliance with the Indian Aircraft Act, 2024, and associated rules regarding aviation safety.

In line with the Aircraft (Demolition of Obstructions Caused by Building and Trees etc.) Rules, 1994, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s notification on “Height Restrictions for Safeguarding Aircraft Operations” (MoCA GSR 751(E), dated September 30, 2015), all structures, particularly those falling within the Red Zone of the Color Coded Zoning Map (CCZM) or within a 56 km radius of the Imphal Airport, are required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The AAI has introduced an online portal, the No Objection Certificate Application System (NOCAS), for submitting NOC applications. Applicants can access the service at https://nocas2.aai.aero or visit the AAI website at www.aai.aero.

Any violation of height limits or non-compliance with these provisions will be dealt with under the Aircraft Rules, 1994, which may involve demolition or penalties. For further clarification, individuals may contact the Imphal International Airport or email at adimphalm@aai.aero.
