Dimapur, June 13, 2025: Founding members of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to Naga unity and a peaceful resolution to the Indo-Naga political issue. This was conveyed during a significant meeting with Government of India representative AK Mishra held in Dimapur on Friday.

According to a press release issued by the group's MIP (Ministry of Information & Publicity), a 20-member delegation led by senior leaders Azheto Chophi and C Singson engaged in a reflective and strategic dialogue with Mishra. The meeting revisited the historic formation of the Unification group on November 22, 2007, at Hovishe Village, which aimed to bring together fractured Naga groups under one vision of unity and peace.

The leaders shared a “concise yet comprehensive” account of events that led to the group’s formation, stating that their intention was not to create another faction, but to consolidate Naga political forces. They reiterated their dedication to an inclusive and amicable solution to the long-standing Indo-Naga conflict.

They also acknowledged the slow progress toward forming a unified Naga political platform but emphasized that the core intent remains unchanged - a united front in dialogue with the Government of India.

Importantly, the delegation urged AK Mishra to convey to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister that, once a political roadmap is finalized, the entire Naga community will speak with one voice.
