Silchar, June 24, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Cachar Police seized over 576 kg of ganja worth approximately ₹3 crore during an operation conducted at ISBT Silchar.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, police teams intercepted two vehicles transporting the contraband and arrested three alleged drug peddlers. The operation was part of the state government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sharing the update on social media, CM Sarma stated, “🚫 Drugs worth ₹3 crore seized in Silchar. Strong steps, clear message.” He congratulated the Cachar Police for their swift and effective action.
The arrested individuals are currently in custody, and further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network involved in the narcotics trade.
