In a press release issued from its Tamenglong HQ office, COPIPAL stated that the resolution to suspend the ban was taken "at the best interest of maintaining peace in the state." The ban had previously restricted the movement of individuals from the Kuki community across regions under the jurisdiction of the Joint Tribes.

The committee expressed its "heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders and general public for their unwavering support" in connection with the matter. This development marks a significant step towards de-escalation and fostering harmony in the region.
