New Delhi, June 5, 2025: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal held a high-level meeting with senior Manipur Congress leaders today at the AICC Headquarters (Indira Bhavan), amid escalating tensions and humanitarian concerns in the state.
Describing the situation in Manipur as a "devastating civil war" that has persisted for over two years, K.C. Venugopal stressed the urgent need for a political resolution to restore peace and normalcy.
Rahul Gandhi, in a message shared on social media after the meeting, stated:" Met with Manipur’s leadership at Indira Bhawan, New Delhi. Heard their pain, hopes, and determination. Our fight for peace, justice, and unity continues - together."
The meeting was attended by key leaders including Manipur MP Dr. Bimol Akoijam, Congress Working Committee member Gaikhangam, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Keisham Meghachandra, and other senior members of the state unit.
